Three questions to ask before you buy any data tool

Where does my data actually go?

Ask for the list of sub-processors and the regions. If the answer is vague or the list is not public, that is the answer.

Whose permissions apply?

A second permission system is a second thing to get wrong. Prefer a tool that inherits what your warehouse already enforces, and test it with an account that should not see much.

What happens when it is wrong?

Every tool is wrong sometimes. The ones worth buying show their work, so you can see which tables an answer used and correct the mapping instead of arguing with a black box.
